I do know how it seems to be viewed as a newbie!. Assume You are having a conversation with guy/girl, then suddenly, they only pop-up with a touch slang that you seem to understand nothing about. You can’t just ask what the meaning is, so you immediately rush to a slang dictionary.

At present, I bet there’s no slang you’ll drop that’s internationally recognized that’ll make you surprised.

Certainly, the planet of the Internet may be a vast place with various changes happening within the languages we use to speak. You can start conversing sort of a pro if your conversant with this list. Yeah, you’ll think you recognize most of them, but they aren’t what your thinking. Just stay updated, don’t feel you know all. Everyone learns every day.

Now here’s the list!.

AMA

This means “ask me anything” so anytime you only met someone new, and that they are like AMA, you’ll know what they mean.

BAE

I know this one is going to shock you, what you recognize as baby or babe has another meaning. No doubt it does mean “Baby/Babe,” but here’s another purpose “Before Anyone Else.”

DAE

This one is used mostly for “Day” that’s wrong. The exact meaning is “Does Anyone Else.” It’s wont to ask if you’re encountering something alone. To ease the difficulty, here’s an example during a sentence.

ExampleDAE loves music such as you neutralize your Family?.

Dafuq

This is a different way of saying WTF. I’m sure you were lost there, anyways, use that and see how shocked people will get.

DM

Yeah, this might mean a lot of things, but you make sure to see what context it’s used in. For instance, if you get to DM me, it means, texts me privately. So don’t get confused. DM means “Direct Message.”

EPLI5

When you hear that from someone, don’t get confused. It’s used once you need a detailed explanation of something. This means “Explain Like I’m 5”.

FML

This means “F*** My Life.” Use it wisely.

FTFY

This means “Fixed That For You.” It’s used instantly after fixing a mistake made by another.

Facepalm

It’s a small and popular way of claiming “Ugh or Idiot.”

Headdesk

This is used when someone does something supremely idiotic. It’s an advanced form of Facepalm—# Supreme frustration.

HIFW

It means “How I Felt When.” It’s used to reduce the length of the word typed when you want to explain your feelings about something.

ICYMI

meaning, “Incase You Missed It.” Wow right?.

IDGAF

Meaning, “I Don’t Give A F***.”

IMO/IMHO

It means “In My opinion” and “In My Humble Opinion,” respectively.

IRL

Meaning, “In Real Life.”

JSYK

It means “So that You Know.”

LULZ

This one is used mostly in cases of mockery. It’s a way of claiming, only for laughing sake. So I might advise you not to use it in replacement for LOL if you recognize what I mean.

MFW

Means, “My Face When.”

MRW

This means, “My Reaction when”

MIRL

Meaning, “Me In Real Life.”

NSFW

This means “Not Safe For Work.”

NSFL

Meaning, “Not Safe For Life”

PAW

Meaning, “Parents Are Watching.” It’s a warning you get, so you will be careful of what you text.

QFT

Meaning, “Quoted For Truth.”

SMH

Means “Shaking My Head.” A way of revealing regrets or disappointment. It’s also used when someone does something stupid.

TBT

To the silly ones, I’m sure what comes into your mind is, Tohdoh bop Top”. The above one is not the right one. it means “Throw Back Thursday.”

TIL

This means, “Today I Learned.”

TL;DR/TLDR

This means “Too Long Didn’t Read.”

YMMV

meaning,” Your mileage may Vary.” This is a more natural way of saying your experience is different from mine.

YOLO

Meaning, “You Only Live Once.” You could use it anyhow you wish.

Pheww, that’s an extensive list I’ve come up with. Admittedly, I haven’t exhausted the list, but this should last you a month or so. Just get on the design out as I’ll come up with a replacement list of trending slang probably within next week.

“Madblocking,” meaning “To avoid a former friend, family person, or partner from access to one’s social media as a result of being angry at that person.”

Used in a sentence:

“I was so frustrated at my sister the other day that I madblocked her from everything — Insta, Whatsapp, and even Facebook, even though I hardly ever use it.”

Like much slang, it is ungrammatical, but short and friendly, and has the advantage of sounding slightly humorous, helping somewhat dissipate the seriousness of a mistake.

Some slang passes into long-term usage, and some slang peaks decline and then become dated/quaint. I’m inclined to think that the phrase may go the way of “groovy,” “I’m hep,” “rad,” “bogus,” etc., but that could be my bad, too.

It’s Lit” indicates it’s on Fire. And we know that everything on-fire is incredible.

Fam” is like a shortcut for Family.

Considering that the speaker of this expression is referring to a party, he’s trying to say that this party is cool.

As the 16th US President has famously said:

“This gathering is magnificent, my family.”

– Abraham Lincoln

Here are other Millennial slangs:

Let’s get Rekt, you Savage beast!

I’m low-key trying to get laid, so I’ll probably show these girls some of my Dank Memes.

Dude, our friend Josh is Turnt AF. These guys are thirsty! … That ass tho.
